Are Latex Balloons Safe For the Environment??
Posted by Anniyea Jaffa on
There is a lot of conversation surrounding the use of balloons. Are they safe for the environment? What are balloons made of?
Below are some facts for latex balloons that hopefully will answer your questions.
I do know that latex balloons are 100% biodegradable. The are not made of plastic, but safely from rubber tress, not harming the trees.
Foil Balloons as they are commonly named are made from a metalized nylon (plastic) that is not biodegradable.
I have a previous blog about how to properly dispose of foil balloons.
Nyeasparty as a company follows safe balloon practices and respect the environment.
We do not release any balloons into the air.
We always add weights to all helium balloons.
Some reminders of safe balloon practices you should follow at home:
Never let children play with balloons without supervision.
Never inhale helium, it might be fun to get the funny voice, but it may also be harmful to your health.
Never release your balloons to fly away into the air, the strings may get caught on power lines and cause havoc.
Properly dispose of balloons.
